the Blue Hill Small Business Collaborative exists to foster a thriving local economy by connecting business owners, expanding opportunities for growth through collaborative marketing and events, and advocating for business-friendly policies.

2025 goals:
Some of our goals for this year include: installing wayfinding signs throughout towns linked to maps, First Fridays, “Welcome to Boo Hill”- a coordinated Halloween event, a coordinated holiday event with the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, and the formation and action of our committees.

We are volunteer-driven by our owner/operator businesses. To be the most effective, we have formed committees to tackle the most important objectives. Those committees are:
Town Liaison Committee - to work with the Blue Hill Select Board
Marketing Committee - to manage and facilitate all marketing efforts
Map & Sign Committee - to design and create signs and a map (paper + online)
Recruitment Committee - to recruit Blue Hill businesses to join our collaborative
Leadership Committee - to manage the organization, its funds, strategy, etc.
COMING SOON: Resources Committee- to seek and facilitate community-wide resources for the collaborative, i.e. insurance packages, special rates, etc.
BECOME A MEMBER
Any business in the town limits of Blue Hill can become a member.

Participate in events like First Fridays during the summer, art walks, special shopping events, Welcome to Boo Hill, holiday events, and others.

Be a part of a website that will have robust SEO behind it, abundant resources for summer visitors and year-rounders alike, and a fully interactive map to find everything from coffee to therapy to carpentry.

Town signage will be linked to an online map via. a QR code. The map will list all members with access to their own websites.

We are currently creating a paper map and online map that will link directly to signage throughout town. Members will be heavily featured.
town reLAtionship
We will be working year-round via our Town Liaison Committee to make sure the voices of small business owners are heard and our needs are considered when decision-making happens at the local level.
shared resources
Eventually, we will work to secure organization-wide resources for our members. Examples may include: insurance plans, trades funnels, or recruitment tactics. A long-term idea is circling around housing.
